The Workers’ Compensation statute, NJSA 34:15-39.1 not only prohibits the termination of an employee in retaliation for filing a worker’s compensation claim or for testifying at a workers’ compensation hearing but also prohibits retaliation against the employee who seeks any benefits or medical treatment under the workers’ compensation system.
